Lee-Ming Chinese Cultural Association

About Lee-Ming

Established in 1976, Lee-Ming Chinese Cultural Association is a non-political, not-for-profit organization devoted to introducing Chinese language, art, and culture to the general public by operating a Chinese School and to promote a multi-cultural society by actively participating in community events that endorse ethnic diversity.

The Lee-Ming Chinese School teaches Tradtional characters for reading and writing. Traditional characters are considered to be more beautiful and are more widely used throughout the Western world and are currently the main written language still used in Taiwan. The spoken language taught is Mandarin, the "official" language of China/Taiwan.

Once students have begun to learn the basics and move on to higher learning levels, the learning tool "IQ Chinese" is used.
IQ Chinese is a CD-ROM based language learning tool that makes learning Chinese easy and fun, with a teacher's guidance. Students (or their parents) may purchase the Student version of the CD and will have their language education enhanced by the guidance of the faculty who are trained in the use of the system used on the CD.

"Lee-Ming" ( 黎明 ) means "Sunrise" or "dawn" , thus our rising sun logo which was designed by one of our students!
